Our family consists of one dad, one mom, four kids, a grandmother, a decrepit dog, seven chickens, five rabbits and a few thousand bees.
We want to live simply, which actually makes our lives a little more complex. When we bought our house in 2005, we didn’t take into account that we would want to live a lifestyle that included agriculture and livestock. The Mrs. always dreamed of having sheep, but on a half-acre of land in a (somewhat) strict subdivision, we realized we couldn’t make it happen. So we bought Angora rabbits, and our tiny farm began to grow.
After the rabbits, we expanded to chickens. Our chickens bring our kids a lot of joy and our garden a lot of compost. In addition, we just began keeping bees at an off-site location.
This blog is about our life. We write about our livestock, our challenges and our way of life. We hope that you enjoy reading.
